Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its India Country Practice and Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice with the addition of Savi Hebbur as a partner in London.

"Indian companies remain committed to out-bound M&A, supported by robust economic momentum domestically and strong balance sheets. Alongside this, India's in-bound M&A volume continues to climb steadily," said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Firm's Global M&A Practice. "Savi’s experience in M&A, private equity and corporate law together with his deep-rooted connection to India will provide valuable support to our new and existing clients on their in-bound and out-bound India investments."

Savi advises international companies and sponsors on their Indian transactions and Indian corporates on their international M&A. He has experience across a range of sectors, particularly energy, chemicals and pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Savi joins White & Case from Linklaters, where he was a partner and led its India group’s corporate offering.

"India's economy is on an upward trajectory and projected to be one of the fastest growing among the major economies, driven by strong domestic consumption and an increase in investment," said White & Case partner Dipen Sabharwal KC, Head of the India Country Practice and a member of the Firm's Global Executive Committee. "India M&A is expected to mirror this trajectory due to the growing attractiveness of Indian companies in the global arena and an increasing appetite among Indian conglomerates to expand internationally. We are delighted to be strengthening our offering to Indian-based clients and international investors targeting India through the addition of Savi, a highly rated M&A partner in the market."

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "M&A continues to be a priority practice for the Firm and India is a busy and important M&A market for us. We have a number of M&A partners in our offices across the US, London and Asia-Pacific with links to our India Country Practice with whom Savi will work closely. Savi is recognised for his India expertise in corporate and M&A matters as well as projects and energy work, and has led the corporate offering of the India group of his previous firm. In addition, Savi's sector expertise aligns with and complements our industry focuses, particularly his work with energy companies and private equity sponsors."

Savi's arrival follows a number of notable partner additions to the Firm's Global M&A Practice since the start of 2024, including Taurie Zeitzer and Keith Hallam in New York, Patrick Sarch in London, John Cahill in New York and Hong Kong, Sten Olsson in Helsinki and Alan Bao in Beijing.
